Suggestions for Pittsburgh Furmeets
I'm seeking suggestions for furmeets to plan over the course of 2012. Already on the agenda is the Post-New Year Pajama Party, and there will be at least one ice skating meet (indoors, this time). But I'd love for some suggestions on events that YOU would love to attend! Suggestions can be as wild and crazy as you'd like, but keep in mind that some of the Pittsburgh furs don't have access to cars and/or a lot of extra cash. Cheap (free!) and busable will be more beneficial to the community as a whole.

Christmas parade in Wampum PA
I would like to take this time to thank those who participated in this years parade, it was a great time for those involved and for those who watched the parade from the sides.
the time after the parade entertaining the kids as they waiting for Santa was indeed a really good time, we have been invited back again next year. After wards we had dinner at the local diner, and we had a good time relaxing there with good food and great friends.
Over all it was a fantastic time and the parade officials can't wait for us to return again next year.
Again I can't thank those enough who participated in this years parade :)
Great big Hugs to you all

Looking for any housing recommendations...
Hello,
My boyfriend and I have lived east of Pittsburgh (in Monroeville and Apollo) for years. Due to both of us having new jobs in the Robinson area that is rather south/west of Pittsburgh, we are looking to move.
We are getting ideas from co-workers, online and apartment advertisements, and I thought of this group. If anyone in this group lives in the Robinson area or within close driving distance to the Robinson area, can you recommend any apartment complexes or know of any apartments for rent that we should check out? We prefer pet-friendly, I have 2 bunnies and a few gerbils. (no free-range pets though so some "no pets" places are ok with them because no-pets often applies to dogs/cats only)
Anyway, I will check this message for replies, please leave any messages here or send me a private message through LJ with any info. Any replies and information will be very much appreciated!

Pittsburgh Ice Skating Meet Dec 9, 2011
Important Info
Date: December 9th, 2011
Time: 7pm-whenever
Location: 26th and Sidney Streets on the South Side (accessible by the 48 bus)
Costs: Admission is $7 for adults and $6 for children and seniors. Skate rental is $3
For any Pittsburgh fur not in the know, Highmark and the Pittsburgh Penguins are setting up an outdoor ice skating rink at the South Side Works (26th and Sidney). As noted on the website, "The Penguins operated an outdoor rink for 10 days at last year’s NHL Winter Classic on the North Shore and the facility was so popular the team decided to make it an annual winter fixture." So they're looking to make this a permanent fixture on the South Side, and given its accessibility, it seems like a great opportunity to get together and enjoy the wonders of outdoor skating rinks!
As far as I know, you should be able to come and hang out with everyone, even if you don't want to skate. My brother and I popped in to check out the skating rink at the Winter Classic and we were able to go right up to the ice without issue.
The event can also be found on the PA Furries board here.

What's coming up?
My boyfriend pisspuppy just made it to town last night, right before midnight. Right now, he's still recovering from the 1100 mile trip to get here from OKC. Dunno how long it'll be before he's up, about, and ready to socialize but I'd like to be able to introduce him to y'all (not to mention meet you myself).
So, I know the monthly meet is tomorrow night, but we probably won't make it this month. What else?
Anybody interested in just hooking up for lunch or something?
