The Furry Fandom would never exist without it, In terms of popularity, Right?

I have yet to go to a single con, for anything. What are they like? Are they really as crazy as people say, or are they average? I'm thinking about going to Anthrocon when I'm older and less socially awkward.

There's no point asking me, I have only been to one Furmeet, I went to LondonFurs, If you read "Fear of Fursuits." You will know how it went,
By it's very eventful, Over 3400 people when to it last year, The next one is 24-27 of June I think.

giza will tell you more, He's been a Furry for 11 years I think.

Oh, furry pre-dated Anthrocon for quite some years. Furry split into its own fandom in the 80s, the first convention (the late Confurence) wsa held in 1989. Albany Anthrocon (as it was then known) didn't happen until 1997.

Thanks for clearing that up but, Anthrocon is still more well know and has world records.

Wearing my other hat as one of the Anthrocon organizers, I can tell you that Anthrocon and many other furry conventions are family friendly environments. Public areas have PG to PG-13 rating, and there are a number of underage folks at furry conventions every year, either with parental permission, or often with their parents themselves.

Heck, even my parents are going to the con. My mother will be working in Artists Alley, and my father will probably do a couple of shifts for security.

It's a volunteer gig. Anthrocon is a 501(c)7 not-for-profit.

Aside from that, I work a "day job" as a computer programmer.

That means you volunteered to find volunteers to do something at Anthrocon?

Lucky you, My closest Furmeet is LondonFurs, It an hour train ride and you have to go through the maze of subways, It's easy to get lost, I haven't been to a Con before, It's got to be a bit more scarier than a Furmeet with the fact that I have to tell so many people I am affair of Fursuits.

hehe well that is true, yes, but I was referring to the furcons I had missed mentioning.

I have only been to one Furmeet, I wasn't very prepared then I thought, I get to be much more perpared for my second one in 6 days.
