Not sure who all lves in the Philadelphia area but I figure if we meet somewhere public, it'll be loads of fun to meet everyone.  I'm not sure when people would be most available but with my current job, I'd need two weeks advance notice to let them know.  If there are any Philadelphia (or surrounding areas) furries, please let me know where you think might be a good place to meet up.

I've thought of some of the parks in Philly but I figure it's pretty cold right now to be doing something soon.  Spring break comes around mid-March or early April for some students so I figured around that time period would be a good place to start.  I've actually hosted two Philadelphia Youtube meet-ups before as well as a meet-up for Rooster Teeth fans in the surrounding areas.

Any ideas and anyone is happily invited!  No invitation necessary since it'll be in a public space but I figure I'd have to let someone know of our arrival since it'd be cool to have people in fursuits.

Regardless, I look forward to hearing any info back!

I wanted to give some feedbck for how I had run my other Philly meet-ups.

My two meet-ups were in public spaces like LOVE Park and Washington Square Park.  I tried to get there a few minutes early so people wouldn't have to be scrambling to find others and wore a shirt (or something to stand out) for people to know where I was.  I normally brought a slew of games that could be played, like "What Am I?" (where you stick a piece of paper on your forehead/back and have to guess what/who you are), Duck Duck Goose, and "Catch the Mad King" (where I made a foam sword for a Rooster Teeth meet-up and whoever held it had to be caught by the others).

I also would start the general get-to-know-each-other discussion before we began with our names, where we're from and an interesting fact.  I suppose for this meet-up, it'd be cool to have our names, what type of species, our fursona's name and an interesting fact.

If we got bored, we ended up just talking to each other or going to grab food or would just walk around Philly.  With most meet-ups, we started as early as 9am and would trickle out around 5pm.  I'm up to any hours we want to set for this meet-up though.

I'm open to hear from anyone on any feedback to make t better but for now, I'm keeping it simple.  :)

Coffee house meets worked pretty well for us on the western side of the state, especially during the cooler months.  It's not especially fursuit friendly, but ears and tails were always okay.  It was a laid back and relaxed atmopshere.  We had groups talking, playing card games or just sitting around with sketchbooks in an adhoc art jam.

I recall a few furs on the eastern side of the state hosting meets at one of the malls, like King of Prussia, Philadelphia Mills or Depford Mall, where they'd do something similar in the food court area.  If you're looking for something downtown the Bourse building is small and classy.  It's just not open very late.

University Fun Center in University Park looks like a close counterpart to our Games n'At here in Pittsburgh.  Games N'at allows fursuits so it may be possible to get the okay for that at this establishment if you talk with the proprietors.

There's also Keystone Mini-Golf and Arcade in Kensington.  From what I could find on Google it looks like it's an Indoor Mini-Golf place with some arcade games.  Mini-Golf courses in my experience usually are open to the idea of costumers/fursuiters so long as they aren't being crazy or damaging things.

Those are a few of the ideas that I have seen work and have worked for me in my years of organizing and hosting furry events.

Hope they were helpful and best of luck!

Swift

I wanted to pull this back up since it's starting to come around the time I said I would start this.  I would like to see if people are interested at all since I'd like to have a few people confirm that they'd want to do this before I even begin to start looking for a place to meet!  ><

If any of you are interested AT ALL, please let me know!  It'll help me in the long run!

P-Awesome!  Hopefully, we can get a few others too.  :3  I'm still thinking a generic meet-up at Love Park to start but I'll start making calls too.  ^^

Hello, everyone, I am a bear in the northeast, and up for just about anything I can attend. Recently I went to a movie meet for the new Disney flick. I am something of a writer and gamer for Mutants and Masterminds, Dungeons and Dragons (5E), Pathfinder and Savage Worlds. If we can agree on a place to gather and play I have been working on ideas for furry gaming in the systems I just mentioned. Right now I have been making furry races for fifth edition D&D and looking at different settings to run this in. I regularly attend Furpocalypse, not in PA I know but it's super easy and cheap for me to attend that con and I run something furry every year there,  and am developing something to run there.  Running furry gaming more than once a year is something I would love to do and even build a shared world for us all to virtually live in.

I live in center city Philadelphia.. I've never been to a meet. Somewhat anxious at the idea, but highly interested. Have gone to conventions... with people I know. Surprisingly I consider myself highly extroverted. Yet jumping into new endeavours is not my strong point.

I'd love to know if something is planned. Blush/ ^///^

If anyone is still interested in this, I realize that this is a bit dead-beat but we could try for an early summer time?  I wanted to check again to see if people were still interested in this though.  ><  I'll be trying to find a place for us even if there's a few people!
