So I work at a Turkey Hill, which essentialy is a Sheetz, but are more local. It's my first real job, and naturally I work to impress. That is the biggest mistake you can ever make when you start a job. With that being said: I now get the worst possible jobs while on the job. But the best is dealing with customers on over night shifts. Here's a few storys that involve dealing with people on any shift.

1st Shift: Around 11am or so.

A man comes in, pats his pockets while mumbling, and promptly leaves again. He comes back two minutes later and asks for a pack of Newport smokes. Our store policy is to card ANYONE who apears to be under, near, or thirty. This young man was surely under thirty, if even early twenties. He got super duper over the edge angry. Slams his hands down onto the glass counter and begins to yell and shout to the whole store about how this sack of crap (in reference to me) cards him and that he's over eighteen and should just be handed the smokes no problem.

He comes back to the counter and says to me, "You're going to give me that pack of cigarettes."

I told him not without an ID.

Now normally people being angry isn't too bad, but this monster is over six feet tall and is a walking ape.

He spartan kicks the door open and storms back into the streets.

1st Shift, Multiple days, Random time.

There's this woman, about five feet tall, maybe shorter, very Hispanic. She doesn't speak English very well. It's more like Spanglish. Which is a mixture of Spainsh words that sound English, or vice versa, and pointing.

Very confusing, right?

Darn right it is.

Anyways; she plays the lottery like no tomorrow. And the first day I encounted her there was the biggest lunch rush I have ever delt with. She bought a few tickets, and left. "Thank you, good luck, and have a nice day." I said. Two people later and there she is again. "More tickets." She says.

Probably.

Anyways... I get her more tickets. "Thank you, good luck, and enjoy your day." I say.

I start taking care of people who need to get back to work.

Not even the third person later.

AGAIN.

Mo tick-ts.

This repeats for an hour, and since I'm alone on the three total registers, the line got out the doors. DOORS. TWO FLOCKING OPENINGS TO MY STORE.

Finally she leaves and I go MVP on the fifty people in the lobby.

Get the job done.

Literaly screamed in the freezer for a minute.

If anyone wants to hear more; I've got plenty of misadventures to share.

I used to work at a college town Sheetz. It's been probably 10 years but I still remember some of the crazy stuff that happened. It was my first job.

Once I observed a girl trying to drive off without paying for gas; she was also intoxicated, as we later found out, because while she was stealing gas she backed directly into a policeman's vehicle.

I was trampled by a drunk person fleeing the store with armfulls of various potato chips and cigarette lighters that he didn't want to pay for.

People freaked out on me over cigarettes and carding all the time.

Drunk nasty people were rude and stupid in the store at all hours of the night. I mostly worked night shifts. These are the kind of jobs that people say "build character".

I could never pull off nightshift hours,  especially with nasty customers as such I would probably lose my calm and start snapping.
