Hi y'all! Name's Kalira.
I've been wanting to make an account on this site but I've been putting it off for months. So here's my fancy little introduction-type dealy:
![]()
I'm a 21-year-old Carpet Python, currently living about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh. I've been a furry for most of my teenage / young adult life, but I didn't start getting involved in the furry community until recently. So far I've been to Anthrocon 2009 and 2010, and I also plan on attending FurFright 2010 in October.
I am a very friendly person who is easy to get along with, although I tend to be a bit of a hermit. My work usually keeps me from going out and spending time with others. I'm a senior game design student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and I will HOPEFULLY be graduating sometime around the middle of 2011. *crosses fingers* I'm rather quiet and shy, and I usually prefer to meet one-on-one with people or in very small groups. This is why I haven't attended any FurMeets yet, although I'm trying to break out of my shell and learn to be a little more outgoing.
Now time for some shameless self-promotion: I'm an artist who is trying to make a little extra money, so commissions are currently OPEN. If you'd like to take a look at my work, you can visit my FurAffinity page (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kalira9/). I am also on DeviantArt, SoFurry, Facebook, and Inkbunny.
I am looking forward to meeting some AWESOME Pennsylvania furries! So please, feel free to email me if you're in the area and would like to meet up sometime!
Thanks, Snowpaws! I see you've watched me on FA. ^^ I really appreciate it.
It's a shame there aren't more scalie furs, but I actually kind of like it that way. It makes us stand out in a crowd.
Welcome to the Site Kalira, I hope you enjoy the site.
I red that your are studying to be a Game designer, I was thinking of becoming one but I changed my mind when I got muscle jerks and twitches from them, I was addicted for a while and got the massive that destoryed my normalness from Killzone 2. But I have changed my ways and turned to Advertizement.
But enough about me, Welcome to the site and I hope your studies go well, I will look forward to seeing what you see work on in the future.
Greetings Kalira. You have some nice art work.
I do not know how many scalies are out there, but see a lot of dragon stories around.
Heh, believe it or not, making video games has completely destroyed my desire to play them. Knowing the ins-and-outs of video games has essentially destroyed the "magic" behind them. I can't play a game without critiquing it or pointing out errors or commenting on the art style. When I try out a new game, the first thing I want to do is wander around and zoom in on everything, admiring the characters and textures. I could care less about actually playing the game.
It's True, I have played so many computer games, I not all Wow that's great, I am more like, Complete game, Complete in hardest mode, Complete challeges, Then the game can go gather dust with the other's in my collection, And I never want to play them again.
Unless the online mode has lots to explore and collect, Reason why I still play Modern Warfare 2, I am collection the titles and badges still.
Hi Kalira, and welcome! I was just thinking how rare snakes are in furrydom. I've seen a number of "scalies" like lizards and dragons, but not snakes. Especially not in suits. Do you costume? That would be pretty challenging, but really cool I bet!
ello and welcomez from deh coolest craziest fur in shittsburgh...
game desighner? art institute? pittsburgh? scallie? all thingz i do like. heh i live like less then ten mins from your school. southside slopes. im talking to drage and forzi bout starting a semi-regular furmeet at me and drages house. come... all you local furs come! do it! the silly cat commandz it!!!
Howdy, and thanks for the detailed introduction. I popped your post up on the front page:

Also, before I forget to ask, do you do DeviantArt or InkBunny at all?
Durr... maybe I should look at your user profile before asking if you're on DeviantArt, yeah.
Also, FurFright is a good con. I think you'll like it.
Wait Cranberry? Did you go to Seneca? Sounds like you're around my age too so I may know you. Also if you're at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh then you should check out one of my comedy shows at Papa J's Centro on Thursday, It's right down the street on Blvd. Of the Allies.
Also, I'm half scalie.
Zelda,
Thanks for the welcome! And no, I've never fursuited before, but I currently have one being commissioned by by Kiniro of Wild Dog Horizons: http://vindalf.net/fursuits/gallery.html I should have it by the end of October. =)
And it WOULD be challenging, but that's exactly why I chose to give my character arms and legs. Odd for a snake, I know, but it's going to make fursuiting a heck of a lot easier!
It's VERY possible that you may have seen me walking around. I no longer live in student housing (Shannon Hall, the prison next to the prison). Due to financial trouble I'm going to be commuting back and forth from now on.
Yay! Thanks for the welcome and for front-paging me. :3
I'm very excited for FF... Anthrocon was fantastic but it was a little overwhelming, especially for someone like me who is new to the fandom.
I'm currently living with my grandmother in Cranberry, but I grew up in Mars.
Next time I'm down that way on a Thursday, I'll be sure to come to one of your shows!
Wow, I live right on the outskirts of Mars.
Oh, where at?
Also, if anybody happens to see a red Chrysler Sebring sedan with this on the back...
HONK AT ME AND WAVE!!

I'm right at the border of Evans City and Callery. And I've never seen that car but I'll keep my eyes open.
I feel compelled to ask you if you like Monty python.
i dunno if i've already said hi on this thread, the feeling of deja vu tells me i have but my search bar tells me differently. so, er...hi *runs away*
oh well hello.
Hellos! Welcome and glad to see someone not to far away from me. Almost an hour away, but still close. LOL.
It's great to see a scalie. Actually your the first scalie I really am getting to know. Still, being in a unique and/ or rarely used species is great. That why I am an otter. There aren't many... or at least there use to be very few. Now I think the otters are gaining ground.
Very cool that you at Pittsburgh Art. Kinda funny cuz' my ex-fiance is doing online classes there for animation. Well... more like was. Long story on that. Anyway, still very cool.
Well, I know I will be friending you here and I will check out your gallery on FA. ^^
Ah, arms and legs... and long brown hair too! Very cool. I like your snake character.
Wow Cranberry? Thats right next to me! Maybe we could meet up some times? I am Kaotic by the way, and welcome to the PA Furs website. Very nice art by the way, loved what i saw.
Hello, and welcome to the site! I'm going to be attending college in Pittsburgh, and i'll be hanging out with drage and zippy plenty. Maybe i'll cya around! Feel free to pm or im me anytime, though i may be busy at times. *curls up in a corner*
If you can handle Anthrocon as your first con, you can handle anything.
from one scalie to another, welcome!
Hellos, I'm blaze, a Pittsburgh fox that is often bored and loves to hang with and meet new furs,

Hello and welcome to the forum! It's refreshing to see a scalie, however rare they maybe. Acutally, for the first few years of fandom I was a snake but opted a switch to fox for (a now ex) girlfriend.
I saw your furaffinity page and I like what I see.
