Oddly enough, we have a Somerset here in PA, too. It's actually one of the exits off of the Turnpike.

Have a safe trip, and we'll keep the website warm for you. Smile

What do you know, Thomas and Giza, Somerset Pennsylvania was where I went for a five-day camping trip a few weeks ago.
It is beautiful up there in the mountains, and only a one-hour drive from my house. We stayed at Laurel Hill State Park. Many, many things there have "Laurel" in the name because the mountain range is called the Laurel Mountains. That is because they are covered in mountain laurel, the state flower of Pennsylvania. I don't know if you have mountain laurel where you live in England, or if it is called something different, but it looks pretty much like our domesticated shrubs rhododendron and azaleas. Very pretty in late spring when it is blooming all over the mountains. There was a lake, and lots of woods to hike and play and bike in, and down the road a little place where they make wine and mead. (Real mead is very hard to buy in Pennsylvania. All sales of wine and liquor are controlled by the state, you buy it at "State Stores," and their selection is pretty lousy. They do stock something called "mead" but it is not really mead; it is regular white wine made from grapes which has had honey added after fermentation. REAL mead is just honey that has been fermented, no grape products whatsoever. So it was nice to find that this small winery had mead for sale. We enjoyed it around the campfire. Goes well with s'mores. (small independent wineries are the exception to the State Store rule; they can sell whatever they make.))
We were having a heat wave at the time and it was so wonderful to get out of the hot city and to the lovely cool mountains. Hope you have a great vacation too!
