Hey guys! So on April 22, there is an autism walk and expo being held at gettysburg rec park. I am possibly going to be taking my parcial there and fursuiting to rasie money for pathfinders for autism. If you guys have any advice about what I shuold do that would be great. There will be kids adults and most likely dogs. I have never fursuited around anyone other than at halloween so any advice would be great. Thanks!

I AM GOING TO BE HAVING A BOOTH UP THERE AS WELL AS FURSUITING Laughing out loud

Take someone out of suit to act as a handler.  With the restricted vision that a fursuit head provides, it's too easy to miss a little kid and walk into them, step where you shouldn't, etc.  It also gives you a mouth piece if your head has a non-movable jaw, to answer little questions like, "What's your name?" "What are you?" "Are you a boy or a girl?" etc, etc.

Take plenety of water, if it's not going to be provided, or if you're not sure.

Know your limits, take breaks.

Take your head off away from/out of sight of the general public if you want to maintain the illusion that you are your character.

Oh! This one is important!

Check with the event organizers, preferably before the event, to make sure that there are no loca or park rules that would prevent you from participating in the walk wearing your head and partial.  Nothing kills a vibe quicker than, "Sorry, but you're not allowed to wear that here."
