Hi there, my name is Jonthan, I go by Jonny, my common alias Toa Ignicus or even by my fursona's name Ampere. I am new to the furry fandom and I would like to know all I can about it and the people who contribut to it.

I live in the Philly suburbs, Lower Bucks County to be exact. I have lived there practically my whole life.

How I got into furries is a little complicated but at the same not so much. I watched a lot of cartoons with animal characters, Disney(in general), The Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa, Tom and Jerry, and Garfield, just to name a few. I have always admired the artstyle, but I never really associated myself with furries. In fact I have never even heard of furries until like 7 years ago. One of my friends was like hard core into it. I thought it was neat and the artstyles of some of the artists were cool, but never really thought any more about it. It wasn't unil two years later that I decided to make my own fursona. He was an unnamed wolf with regular wolf colors, but I scrapped that one. But even then, I still felt like I wasn't a "furry" yet, until January of this year. I bought myself some ears and a tail.

At some point, I would like to have my own fursuit, but I currently have a delema. Right now I'm kinda stuck between three posibilities for a solid fursona, I would like to have an electric themed one. His color scheme consists of blue(primary), black(secondary) and yellow(accents) and maybe white for the belly. I was thinking of one of three species, Wolf, Husky or Fox. I was initially thinking of an electric themed husky, but I'm no longer 100% sure that that's what I want for a fursona, but I am solid on the color scheme. Btw, is giving fursonas "powers" considered a sin? If so, I'll drop the electric bit, but I'd like to keep the colors. Here's what he looks like. Any oppinions on him? Please be advised this is my first attemp at one of these and I lack the creative skill to actually draw a good one, so I found a base and harshly colored it in using MS Paint because that was the only coloring program I had.

Hiya and welcome! I hope you enjoy it here. You live a bit far away from me, but I believe there are some active fur groups in the area. As far as basic art goes - you could always try out Gimp. It's a free alternative to the likes of photoshop, and would at least get you further than MSPaint. I'm no artists, but if you want to explore it more I'm sure there's people here that could help!

Thanks for the recommendation. Happy anime smile  I was checking out Kijani Lion's videos and I saw that one of them had a red More Fur Less brand fox with a Phillies t-shirt on them. I'd love to actually get involed in a local furry group, but I have no idea where to start looking. XD

Hmm, you'd have to actually talk to someone in the area but I believe they are more active elsewhere rather than this site. I think maybe they have a facebook group? Also, if you have telegram, you could check out the PA furs group - you might be able to find someone in your area on there.
