So i was planning on going to the Home & Garden Show whenever it comes to Pittsburgh. Is there anyone planing to go or would like to go?
If your going, cool tell me when!

If your not and you’d like to id probably go March 2, 6 or 9th (since those are my days off work) Not set in stone with a date but if anyone wants to come, awesome! Let me know and ill put a set date in

Info i already know:
•Meeting at noon near the entrance or in outside the entrance, whichever would be easiest
•Parking is cheapest in the parking garage near the bus station (I believe its still $5 for all day)
•Tickets are $10 ($4 for kids ages 6-12)
•Will walk around for maybe 2 hours (or more depending) with breaks in between of course

Sounds like a great opportunity to hang out.

Just some clarifications.  This is not a fursuiting opportunity.

Do you want it to be "Low Key" (e.g. Furry T-shirts, Character Art Badges) or if someone wants to wear 'ears and tails" that would be cool?

Hope you get some company for your outing to the Home and Garden Show next weekend!

*Hugs*

No no, this is a fursuit opportunity. Ive fursuited at the show before and i want to do it again. So suiting is an option. Now im not sayin you have to, so if you want to wear ears and a tail go right agead. Your actual the only person who commented on this and actoss other posts so i might be gling by myself

Oh! I didn't get that impression from your initial post that it was a fursuiting outing?

I recall that the local furries have received approval to appear in Mascot costume at the Home Show in years past.  I believe they put a limit on the number of costumers in the party, and required that the group provide handlers to assist..  Given the number of attendees and the narrow congested aisles it made sense from a liability standpoint.

Have you received/asked for permission to attend in costume again this year?  How many suiters are allowed?  Do you have anyone lined up to act as handlers yet?

Having organized similar outings at the DLCC to correspond with public conventions and shows, I know that these thinks normally need to be set up weeks in advance to iron out all the details.  Most events when approached in advance LOVE the idea of having us attend, within reason.  They've even provided us space to use as a green room.

I'd hate to see you be embarrassed if you and your group were prevented from entering in costume because these things weren't set up ahead of time.  That's a total bummer, believe me.

Please confirm.

Oh i never knew this 0.0 Ive never hosted anything before, this is the first time i am doin it. Ive gone before but it was with others who planned it. I havnt asked anything to the dlcc, I didn’t know i needed to. I have had no one interested so far in coming. I think i can get my mom to come with me to be a handler but idk if she is actually wanting to go.

Man this is what i get for trying to do something myself Sad I should always leave this stuff to the people who know what their doing. *sigh* This was a horrible idea. Its more complicated then i thought. I feel so stupid trying to do this now

*Hugs* It certaily wasn't a dumb idea, and it's not your fault for not knowing.  I am glad I spoke up and brought it to your attention.

Your event can still happen if anyone else chimes in, but just not with fursuits this year.  (Did you post it to the Facebook Group?)

The local community can always use furs who want to get folks together for a fun time and orgainize outings and events.  I PM'ed you privately if you want to chat about stuff further.
