Finally got the foam I needed to start Morbyd's head! And I found it at Jo-Ann's, on sale for $15.00 a yard, $30.00 at full price. They said I was lucky that I came when I did (I'm lucky?!?). It's -- I think -- an inch thick, green, and really soft and flexible. Everything in Jo-Ann's store is expensive, but I do like that store. It always smells nice and the employees are always nice to us. Wouldn't mind going back just to step in, take a whiff, smile all accomplished-like, and step back out. Mom also stopped at Rite Aid so that my sisters could get some pencils and pens (we all draw). I rushed in (I had been sleep the whole way after Jo-Ann's) and bought two rolls of masking tape and a king-sized Sharpie for marking up the mask. I also got some Jalapeno kettle chips, you know -- the kind in the green bag, Herr's? |

Yes! So insane! i wish wal-mart had had it when I went, but, I had to keep it movin, get it started, you know? And the foam was perfect, exactly what I was looking for! I had no choice!
I hope you get your regular coupon, or got it already. Money's tight.
if you guys are looking for cheaper prices on fur and stuff that are online theres mendels far out fabrics- decent faux furs plus other fabrics, they are a little on the pricey side sometimes but its way better quality than most fur ive found at jo anns, distinctive fabrics- low prices, semi decent selection on faux furs, ive found a website that sells foam called the foam factory- they sell half sheets and full sheets of foam from 1/4 of an inch thick all the way up to 8 inches thick they also sell quite a few types of foam too wich could be used for heads and also foam for feet paws, not quite sure what their shipping prices are but it shouldent be too bad as foam can be folded up pretty well
Thanks for the tip, I did want to find someplace with better selection of fur patterns!
youre welcome i know theres a few more out there but some of the other ones ive seen they only sell wholesale fabric by the roll and unless youre gonna need 15 yards of fur its not really worth it
Yay!! Yay!!! I just saw a sale flyer in the newspaper, and guess what? All faux fur at JoAnn's tomorrow is 50% off!!!
That's great, 'cause I need to make tails and ears for 3 lambs, 3 camels, one donkey, and one cat.
(But I'm still going to check out that website, Inugirl, for a special nice pattern for a different project; a pattern that I know they don't have at JoAnn's.)

Ugh, I hate JoAnn's! But they are the only game in town for getting fabric and they know it. Hence the ridiculous prices! As if the prices on fabric weren't bad enough, the price on the foam is just beyond ridiculous. Their only saving grace is the "40% off one item" that is usually in the newspaper every week, and I am really steamed that they changed it this week. This week it is $5 off purchase from $25-$$49.99 or $10 off purchase from $50-$74.99 or $15 off purchase from $75-$100. Which I guess is decent savings if you are planning to buy a whole cartload of stuff, which is of course what they want you to do. However, I just wanted to get a couple yards of fake fur to start making the costumes for the Christmas pageant, and I was planning on getting it at 40% off!! If they don't have the regular coupon back next week I think I'm gonna have to go breathe fire on their CEO!
....and a BOOK!!
