(Not a furry fan? That's cool. You're still welcome here.)
Alright, now, I know people have a high demand for low price, high quality furry cosplay items. Myself and http://www.furaffinity.net/user/artsykitty/ are going to start production of Tails we may additionally make Ears in the future.
Price has yet to be determined.
Now, I have this as an announcement because, it is, but I'm also looking for input at what people would want from something like this. The importance of one aspect over another. Quality of goods, verses price, verses variety, etc... etc...
Keep in mind, we are just starting up, so we aren't going to go and just into really complex projects, also, keep in mind, finding fabric color isn't always easy, and certain things like special prints on your tails isn't going to be a starting project.
currently, we're going to offer 2 tone tails, multi tone tails, solid color tails, different sizes, wired for pose ability, special tail tip colors, bunny poofballs, free standing, different species tails (Feline, Canine, Rodent, and we take requests on more complicated, or specific species, those are just the simple and common ones.)
If you were interested in purchasing one, I'll come up with set payment prices.
Contact me at KozacktheGray[at]aol.com and I'll get back to you privately.
Payment methods will also be released when additional details are released. Thank you for your time and input, I look forward to determining things and your patronage...
hmm... well... if you have the details, we could possibly make a fan of feathers, though finding materials will be interesting
Haha, yeah, tell me about it. Finding feathers large enough is one big problem, but then dying them somehow to be the right colors... I've given up myself, haha. I was more curious if you'd be willing to do it than to actually get it done, but we'll see what life is like for me in the future.
That would be an interesting challenge, making a red tailed hawk tail human-sized! I'm thinking you would have to use something other than feathers. Any real feathers long enough would not only be the wrong color, but the wrong shape and texture. Maybe papier mache, or cloth molded and colored and then shellaced?
Well, I actually picked up a feather duster recently that has beautifully sized feathers, the only problem is that they're the wrong colors (obviously). My friend said that she was going to try and air brush them and experiment on them so she can see what might work to color them. We'll see how that goes.
I was thinking of making a fan, then cutting long strips of fur of the appropriate color, in a feather shape. it won't be perfect, but that's all I can really think of. Either that or a feather duster.
Airbrushing would probably work great! Please show pictures if/when your friend does it.
(I think you and I just have a different idea for what would constitute the right size, is all!)
Haha, I sure will post pics if/when it turns out. Gotta show off my friend's creative talents of course. And, well, hawk tail feathers are pretty damn long in comparison to their bodies, so I was thinking maybe a good foot and a half or two feet of tail feathers would look "natural" on an anthro hawk. My fursona almost has his tail feathers touching the ground, so... yeah.
Try Breakspire, I believe she's open for bird tails right now. http://community.livejournal.com/fursuitauctions/1793275.html
Thanks, she has some really cool stuff going on there, and hooray for someone making birdy tails! If things don't work out with my friends then I'll definitely give her a shout.
Yeah, I really want to get a Mourning dove tail from her, but alas, I's poor.

Haha, any possibility that you could come up with a red-tailed hawk feather tail, or is that asking too much?
