Ah, cheetahs aren't that tough.

DELAWARE FURBOWL 24 ON STANDBY

Due to the high winds today a billboard blew over and fell on top of the bowling alley. I'm trying to get up with them about what will be happening tomorrow night but I'm not going to hold my breath after seeing a picture of the damages.

Consider this the official standby notice concerning tomorrow night's Delaware Furbowl. I will be posting whether or not we have to cancel the event tomorrow as soon as I hear the news.

Furbowl 24 Update. End of Feb 25th

Here's where we stand. We may have a replacement alley for the main bowling portion of the event. It's at Bowlerama along Rt. 9. http://tinyurl.com/bowlerama

Nothing is set in stone yet but I will be negotiating with them tomorrow. Keep your paws crossed.

However, we will still be going to the Charcoal Pit. Worse comes to worse, we have the first official "Delaware FurBurger"

I will post whatever other updates I have before noontime tomorrow. For now you can plan on us continuing to go to the Charcoal Pit at least. What happens afterwards is still up in the air at the moment.

Furbowl 24 Update: Feb 26th Final Decision

After evidence was brought to my attention concerning the safety of the area surrounding Bowlerama I have decided that Delaware Furbowl 24 will have to cancel the bowling portion. (Evidence)

However it's my pleasure to bring you Delaware FurBurger! (Yes I'm seriously calling it that).This means that we still are on for the eating portion at the Charcoal Pit at 6:30! I have reserved 55 plates and I hope to see you all come out for a good time full of good burgers and a couple kitchen sinks!

Sorry to anyone that was really looking forward to bowling this evening but I believe I've tried to do everything in my power to replicate what we do at AMF price lanes and simply lack the time and proper facilities to fulfill tonight the level of quality in the event that we would normally provide. I'm bummed since we were going to be showing off a lot of new implementations tonight.

Curse of 12 strikes again.

Nonetheless I'm looking forward to tonight! And next month should be DE Furbowl 24.5!

Delaware Furbowl 24: Back on track!

Delaware Furbowl 24: I just got the call from the bowling alley saying that they're going to be open for tonight.

We're going to try to organize something tonight after the dinner. It's going to be slightly dis-organized since we weren't expecting it to be open but if you want to come out and hang with us then come on down at the normal time of 8:30 - 9:00! The dinner starts at 6:30 still!

Delaware Furbowl 24 Post Meet Report:

Oh my what a hectic Saturday. It was one of the smaller events with 77 furries but with the way everything came together last minute it was still exciting!

So you may or may not have heard that a billboard fell on top of our bowling lanes the Friday before DE Furbowl 24. This began a frantic search for a replacement bowling alley which led to a few options but thankfully and by some miracle AMF Price Lanes defied all odds and was open for business Saturday 26th.

So we wound up putting the meet into standby, canceling the bowling, and ultimately pulling a successful if not hastily put together DE Furbowl out of thin air. It was actually a good test run for all the improvements we have for the DE Furbowl!

Speaking of you may have noticed a few changes between this DE Furbowl and our past events.

- Charcoal Pit as our new dinner location! We're back at the Charcoal Pit again and they handled us excellently! We did take advantage of the overflow space and will more than likely be going there again in the future!

- Headless Lounge! We finally have a proper changing space for our costumers so now you don't have to change in any tiny bathroom stalls anymore! Not to mention we have a water cooler for you guys to drink up and stay hydrated!

- Group Picture location and procedure! Since we are going to be using the party room we might as well use it for the group picture! This gives us better lighting, better organization, and while we still have a few bugs to work out I want to have it taken in there from now on. (Speaking of group picture we'll have it up asap)

Stay tuned guys, at the upcoming Furbowl 25 we'll be rolling out DE Furbowl 2011 Badges! These badges will come in a vinyl sleeve with a clip, will have a spot to write your name, and you'll be able to track your DE Furbowl attendance on them! They'll only cost $1 to cover our costs in making them so save your pennies!

I also want to give a big shout-out to Fawkes Beaumont! He was a huge help throughout the night and without even being asked he was there to lend a helping hand! Super kudos dude! We appreciate it tons!

The next Delaware Furbowl will occur on March 26th, one week after FWA.
