(Not a furry fan? That's cool. You're still welcome here.)
I mentioned my quad in my intro thread, so I figured I'd post a thread about him. My first suit, built by Bladespark. Love it totally and plan to wear him to as many events as I can manage. I've already built a couple of fans for him and started work on a harness and lead so a friend of mine can use me as a guide animal (as part of a costume, not for real). I've xposted the info from the fursuit parade thread in furtopia since it covers most of his details. When I did GrangeCon, all the costumers went out to the lobby of the hotel and I was immediately surrounded by kids and a few adults (it was the 4th of July weekend). The kids were all really great, though I expect that was helped by the number of handlers I had and especially because one's a former security guard. There was even one kiddo who followed me back down the hall so he could pet me because he didn't get a good chance in the crowd.
One experiment I'm working on now is approximating the telepathy by installing a full-face helmet two-way radio headset in the head and have my handler wear an earbud and small mic attached to the other radio.
Character info.:
* Name: Thrakmon
* Owned by: Me
* Species: Emerald Imperial Arctic Tiger (Personal species design, extradimensional in origin, home planet highly developed tele/psycho kinetic evolutionary traits. Currently no known instance of telekinesis, however Arctics have human-equivalent intellect and psychokinetic abilities including telepathy. Resembles an Earth Bengali white tiger with a longer muzzle length and a sub-species with geometrically precise stripes. Thrakmon, as can be seen, does not belong to this sub-species)
* Full or Partial suit: Quad
* Toony or realistic: 25%/75%
* Built by: Bladespark
* Colors/Markings: White with black stripes, blue eyes.
* Clothing/Accessories: Sometimes wears a harness and lead so he can get into cons for free as a guide animal.
* Cons attended: GrangeCon 5
* Cons planned: GrangeCon 6, Lunacon 55, Anthrocon 2012, I-CON 31
* Likes: Winter, rare meat, children
* Dislikes: Warm weather, confined spaces
* Fursuit DB entry: http://db.fursuit.me/?c=viewsuit&id=2764
DB entry has more info and lots of pics.
Here's the only video I have so far, earlier on when I was still getting used to putting him on and walking around: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfPNV_ROYws

Yes, putting rare meat next to children in a list as well as in real life can cause some trouble for a tiger. On the other hand, it gives parents some credibility when they tell their kids to behave or the tiger will get them.

Nice suit!
Note that we can't let you eat small children at Anthrocon. Housekeeping at the hotel gets uppity about that.
