(Not a furry fan? That's cool. You're still welcome here.)
So it is my fisrt time making a fur suit. I am trying to make a wolf. I tried the just foam way which was an epic fail and a fight between my fiance and I. Then I discovered this mesh canvas wat and it looks a little more stable and easy to build off of. The first paper prototype looked like an aligator jaw. The pictures are the final attempt that can be tweaked if needed... just a bit harder to tweak. The jaw to me looks a little long, but if I shorten it I am afraid it may be too short at that point, if you look at my nose to the tip of the muzzle. Please any help, recomendations, or hints is very much welcome. I am hoping to start foaming by this weekend as I ponder any tweaks to make.

That is my fiance's photobucket that I steal time to time so ignore the other pics lol
Thanks for your help
Just trying to figure out how to get more motion out of the jaw though for when talking...
Made the base to one of the paws for the feet.... have few blisters on my hand from shaping with scissors
. Rest of photos on the progress are in the link with the first post for photobucket.

I tried the mesh method for two of my heads and it ended up being kinda boxy, but yours looks really good. I feel your pain because I rage quit quite a few times on the first one just doing things over and over until they looked right. You learn a lot though from that process.
How do you have the bottom jaw attached for talking?
@ Mutt, For the bottom jaw I made a hinge where the actual hinge to the jaw is in your own body (right by the earlobe). To do this I got a Copper role of pipe clamp (its long half inch thin strip of copper with holes all along the strip). I then ran that from base of the head...up over the head and down the other side to the base (tucked the parts I did not need into the foam and glued the foam over to not have it scratch. I then for the bottom jaw made the plastic mesh base to it.... but.... took a thin rod of steel and bent it to sit on top of the canvas frame. I then sewed it on and hot glued for extra renforment. the long pices of the rod sticking out the back of the jaw on each side I bent up on a 65 degee angle (or whatever your own face may need).... and made a loop on the end to sit it one of the holes on the copper strip. Right by your earlobe. I then foamed the jaw and took a 2 inch spring from Lowes and rigged that from inside the head (near the upper part of the cheek bone) to the back part of the jaw where your lip flap would cover. This was hooked with a hole punch button (the gold metal button looking thing that you put through a hole and open up the two spreadie pices of metal) on the cheek and then I used a bobby pin and stuck it through the foam and plastic mesh hole on the jaw... wrapping it through the sping hole and around the steel frame. The foam on the bottom part of the jaw sits comfortable on the bottom of my chin to allow for movement (trying to find a way to improve the sensitivity of the movement more). My head slips in tight but not bad past the jaw and into the head so there is no dehinging and rehinging..... Open to any ideas or questions btw so feel free to ask away and I will get back to you ASAP ^_^.
So what I did for this, is take the foam head that I built and put cellophane wrap over the foam as a barrier. I then laid strips of white duct tape over the cellophane outlining the head. Next, got some colored markers and drew the pattern that I drew up on my PC. I will cut out the colored duct tape to lay flat on the designated fur. This will help trace the patterns onto the fur to cut and ensure proper fit. This is basically what It will look like when finished SOOO EXCITED!!! =^_^=

Just a tip, you should mark the direction of the fur on the tape before you take the tape off of the head. This will help ensure that you mark the pattern onto the fur in the correct direction. It's worth the few extra minutes to make sure that all of the fur will flow together and in the right direction when you're done.
Other than that it looks good. (thumbs up)

*Squeeeee* its coming along sooo nice... Sculpted nose with sculpty and haved the Muzzle. All the white is done... just adding the tricolor and black outline. Bottom jaw is done and shaved too but not in the pic.

Almost done. Need to add the rest of the paw pads and shave the other paw too. Feet paws are half done and then I just need to make the tail. Might add some teeth too. Anyway, this is pretty much Akiro!!! =^.^=

Finished foaming the head after 4 attempts and a rage fit that ended up in a couple days of quitting. Here is the top of the head only, the bottom jaw was attached and added in the video link.
