Ya its something normal, happens now and then... more than you want to know. Media gets a hold of bits of the story and POOF its now worry worry worry to the general public.... Coming from a computer tech for network security Excited tongue , you're fine, 98% of home computers will give the green for go sign Dance . Only need to worry if you go on how do I say it nicely.... freeky deeky very questionable spam click the ads to see whats beneath sites. Even then with a good antivirus you are pretty safe nowadays on those anyway. So dont let it worry you or lose sleep over it, your freindly tech wolf here will be glad to help if needed.  Highfive

To add to this if your computer is older then 10 years... then I may check. What it was is there was a big virus that effected the internet portion in some mostly contained areas. FBI to prevent a problem put up some servers to block it. After ten years they said well these servers are old and this virus is basically gone so to save us some money we are going to make way for some desks here (a normal rinse amd repeat for them with network security stuff). Sooo the few computers that MAY still have the blocked virus... may be at risk now (note the above 98% are fine). Also to add most computers are not ten years old anymore. and would still only be running windows XP because thats all they could run.

Losing your DNS numbers = no internet.  I have a story about my company's tech guys accidently removing the DNS from a router, but would take to long to type it all out.

Saying "most" computers is an exaggeration.

Also, if your DNS ever gets hosed, just set the IP to 8.8.8.8. That's Google's public DNS server.
