Delaware Furbowl 12 Canceled

Delaware Furbowl 12 which was scheduled for tonight is going to be canceled. It's snowing here in Delaware and it's not showing signs of stopping anytime soon. I don't want folks risking their safety on the roads and I feel that the weather is causing unsafe driving conditions.

Again sorry for any inconvenience, and sorry to those that were really looking forward to this month's event.

I'll be hosting the next furbowl, Delaware Furbowl 12.5, next month on Saturday January 30th! I hope all of you that signed up can make it then!

SNOW ALERT

With the recent weather warnings and the rising severity of the current snow threat I have decided to put the upcoming Furbowl on cancellation notice. I don't want anyone to risk driving in the snow and getting hurt over my furbowls. I apologize to anyone who has made special plans for this event, or had to ask for the time off, but the weather just isn't wanting to play nice at the moment.

It isn't canceled yet , but prepare yourself for that high possibility. By noontime tomorrow I will be able to give you a straight answer on whether the events are still occurring or if I'm canceling it. If it is canceled I will try to message everyone personally to let you know as such. I don't want you to come all this way only to find out it's canceled once you show up at the alley (in suit).

Keep an eye on this post to remain abreast of the situation.

Details: We'll be meeting at the Charcoal Pit Sports Grill which is along Kirkwood Highway, at 6:30PM. We'll head inside at 7:00 to grab some really delicious food.

Around 8:30 we'll be leaving there and heading to AMF Price Lanes. We should get there just in time for cosmic bowling. Expect to bring $15 for two games and shoes.

You will be paying the restaurant and the bowling lanes directly instead of me.

Delaware? This is a Pennsylvania forum!
We have a few folks coming down from the SE Pennsylvania area who heard about us through LiveJournal. I decided to post it here to try and spread the word.

It's the holidays!
It sure is! Might be a smaller turnout than normal but go ahead an be festive! I wanna see at least one fursuit with a santa cap on!

Can I just hang out?
Sure you can come to just hang out! Some of our folks come just to socialize! Be prepared for me to hound on you a bit to try to convince you to bowl. :3

Do I need to spend any money?
Nobody is going to fault you for pinching your pennies however, buying a soda, grilled cheese sandwhich at the resteraunt, or some food from the bowling alley, goes a long way in ensuring they enjoy hosting our group.

How much should I bring for everything?
Expect to spend about $30 for both events.

Is there a bar?
There is a bar at the bowling alley where alcohol can be purchased. Please drink responsibly. It's one thing to be slightly buzzed. It's another to be trashed. Also, don't forget to pay your bar tab! :3

Can I wear my fursuit?
Fursuits at the bowling lanes are all groovy and cool as long as you're comfy signing the legal waiver. However do not suit to the resteraunt. For practicalities sake as well as good will with the restaurant. Tails/ears however are encouraged. Just remember that it's on a Saturday and will more than likely be a bit crowded with mundane folk.

Will there be an afterparty?
If there is going to be an afterparty I'm not the one organizing it. You have to come to find out if there is one or not. :3

Whats this I hear about a Group Picture?
During the middle of the bowling portion of the event I'll gather everyone together so we can get a nifty group shot! The wait staff at the bowling alley will happily take pictures for you during this time so you can get in the picture too!
