Hello there!

I'm pretty new to all of this to be honest, well at least being open about it. For a long while I was a bit on the nervous side about coming out to people. Seemed like I had enough going on for people to judge me by without adding something else on. But recently I've just decided to let it go and be myself, so here I am!

So that being said, I'm Greg, I'm 26 years old and I'm currently living in Lancaster. I got into being a fur (Actually I'm not sure I really count as a "fur" more on that later.) from a friend an old friend of mine who was already neck deep and brought it up to me. I'm a total pluviophile, rainy days just put me at ease. I like reading, and most forms of gaming. I say most because I haven't yet encountered something I didn't enjoy while gaming, but I don't know what I might encounter next.  I don't have a fursuit just yet, though I've been seriously considering getting one made for me. I couldn't do it myself, as I'm sure I'd set myself on fire somehow. I'm not very crafty. I've not been to any conventions just yet, but I'm hoping to change that very soon! I identify with pansexual because bi-sexual felt a little restricted, I like people and some people don't fall into the male or female line.

Now the reason I said I'm not sure I count as a fur is because there seems to be difference between a furry and a scalie at least in labeling. And I wasn't sure if I would fit in here, but I noticed an eagle milling about and they don't exactly have fur either so I signed up! Species is still up in the air for me, I'm not sure if I identify with a crocodile or snake more. This has been an on going battle for me for the past year or so. That's probably me rambling but I'm nervous. Anyhow! Hello!

As far as the furry / scalie thing is concerned, I'm pretty sure scalie's still fall under furry.  In general a Furry seems, to me, to be someone who can identifiy themselves with an anthropomorphic version of an animal, or animals, that would represent their personality well.  I could be wrong, and if I am I invite someone to correct me!

That's about right; 'Furry' is often used as a general term, with 'scalie,' 'feathery,' and so on being used as subcategories.

Anyboo, welcome to the herd/pack/murder/flock/clutch, Greg!

First, I had to Google for "pluviophile". That's a new one on me!

Second, I haven't heard much distinction betwen "scaly" and "furry". Some folks may feel differently, but they're close enough and I've seen enough co-mingling between people who identify to each group.

Third, I frontpaged your post. Smile
