But here's the thing. I'm an otter, originally from Ohio, currently living out in Denver. I am planning on relocating out to the Philadelphia area, but my housing seems to have fallen through. I do have a lead on a job (I put in an application and found out that I'm in the pile of people they want to interview), but it's kinda hard to get a job without a place to stay, and hard to get a place to stay without a job, so I was wondering if anyone out there might know of someone in the area or be someone in the area that could temporarily provide shelter to an otter until something more permanent can be arranged. Also hi everyone, haha, nice awkward intro there, but I'm kinda desperate to get out of this town at this point. Anyone who just wants to also say hi to me can feel free to, good to meet new people even if they can't help. Ummm... I guess that's all. ^_^;

Hmm, a couple of questions come to mind:

- If you put your resume up on Monster.com or whereever, what are the chances that you get a potential employer to fly you out to Philly?

- Can you fly yourself out to Philly and stay in a hotel or hostel?

My original plan was to load stuff into my car and drive across the country in about two or three days. It probably would've been better to wait till later this year to move, when I get access to a pile of savings, but this month has been a bit of a disaster and is forcing me out sooner.

I'm not sure if I could get someone to pay for me to go out there for an interview, but I have been working in retail management for about four years as a general manager and six years as any kind of manager at all. I was considering one of those extended stay hotels, or something that I could afford until I could get properly employed, but figured I'd try the list to see what I could come up with.

Could do that! Sharing ideas is always good. What I've seen of Pittsburgh was pretty neat, so I hope you get your housing situation worked out!

Also, I already have a possible job interview waiting for me there, I can't believe I forgot to mention that. The hotel part seems to be the likely solution, but also very costly. Is there a cheapish hotel to stay at that may have weekly rates that aren't going to bust a new transplant before I can get a place to live?

Yeah, I had seen that. Still hope it works out. The other problem I have with it is it'd be too close to my parents. Haha. I try and keep a healthy amount of distance between them and I.
